May 18: Cubs Win 2-1 In a Freakin Marathon

Jesus Christ thank you for finally ending that game. Just a display of constant nothingness. Like a beer pong game where nobody can make a shot. But hey, its over, and we won. So lets break it down:

It wasn’t until the 5th inning that some blood was spilled in this one. It was a little fielder’s choice off of Lackey. Not too exciting.

Then, deep in the game, our boy Addison Russell came through with a fielder’s choice groundout of his own, which would score Javier Baez, and tie the game for Chicago. Then in the 13th, in an interesting turn of events, Travis Wood — who had entered to pitch and was forced to hit with all position players used up — walked to force in a run with the bases loaded. That would give the Cubs their second run of the game, and it would be the difference.
